How To Cook Spegetti Squash

Spaghetti squash is one of the most popular winter squash varieties. It’s low in calories, high in fiber and vitamins, and has a mild, sweet flavor. Plus, it’s incredibly easy to cook! Here’s how to cook spaghetti squash in four simple steps:

Step 1: Preparing the Squash

Before you start cooking, it’s important to properly prepare the squash. Start by washing the outside of the squash with warm, soapy water. Cut the squash in half lengthwise, then scoop out the seeds and stringy pulp with a spoon. Once it’s cleaned, pat the squash dry with a paper towel.

Step 2: Baking the Squash

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Place the squash halves cut-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the squash is tender and easily pierced with a fork.

Step 3: Scraping the Squash

Once the squash is cooked, let it cool for a few minutes. Then use a fork to scrape the squash flesh into thin strands. The strands should look like thin spaghetti noodles.

Step 4: Serving the Squash

Spaghetti squash can be served warm or cold. It can be enjoyed as is, or topped with your favorite sauce, seasonings, and additional ingredients. Enjoy!
