Prepare the Quinoa

Start by measuring one cup of quinoa and rinsing it in a fine mesh strainer. Rinsing quinoa helps remove its natural coating, called saponin, which can make it taste bitter.

Cook the Quinoa

Once the quinoa is rinsed and drained, add it to a medium-sized pot with two cups of water or broth. Bring the pot to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a lid. Simmer the quinoa for 15-20 minutes, or until all of the liquid is absorbed.

Fluff and Serve the Quinoa

Once the quinoa is cooked, turn off the heat and fluff it with a fork. This helps separate the grains and give the quinoa a light, fluffy texture. Serve the quinoa as desired and enjoy!
