– 1 cup farro
– 2 cups water
– Salt, to taste


1. Begin by rinsing the farro. Place the farro in a medium saucepan and rinse with cold water. Drain the farro and repeat two or three times until the water runs clear.

2. Add the 2 cups of water and 1/4 teaspoon of salt to the pan with the rinsed farro.

3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.

4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for 15 minutes.

5. After 15 minutes, remove the pan from the heat and check the faro to ensure that it is cooked. It should be tender, but still chewy.

6. If it is not cooked through, add 1/4 cup of water and cover the pan. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes and check again.

7. Once cooked, drain the farro in a fine-mesh sieve.

8. Serve the cooked farro as desired. Enjoy!
