2. Place the artichokes in a large pot and fill with enough water to cover them.

3. Add a pinch of salt, a few cloves of garlic and a few sprigs of fresh herbs (such as rosemary or thyme).

4. Bring the pot to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let simmer for 25 minutes.
