How To Cook A Prime Rib

All you need to know about: How To Cook A Prime Rib.

Preparing the Prime Rib

Before you start cooking the prime rib, it is important to prepare the meat. Start by taking the prime rib out of the refrigerator and letting it come to room temperature. This will ensure even cooking of the meat. Once the prime rib has reached room temperature, season it generously with salt and pepper.

Cooking the Prime Rib

Once the prime rib is seasoned, preheat the oven to 375°F. Place the prime rib in a roasting pan and add a cup of beef broth to the pan. Roast the prime rib uncovered for 15 minutes, then reduce the oven temperature to 325°F and continue to roast the prime rib for 2 to 3 hours, or until an internal thermometer reads 130°F.

Resting the Prime Rib

Once the prime rib has reached the desired temperature, take it out of the oven and let it rest for at least 15 minutes. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat and will result in a juicy and tender prime rib.

Carving the Prime Rib

Once the prime rib has rested, it is ready to be carved. Using a sharp carving knife, slice the prime rib against the grain into thin slices. Serve with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!
