1 whole hen
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon ground sage
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon rosemary
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 lemon, halved


1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Take the hen out of its packaging and rinse it under cold water. Pat dry with a paper towel and place it in a roasting pan.

3. In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, paprika, thyme, sage, oregano, rosemary, and cumin. Mix together with a fork and set aside.

4. Rub the hen with olive oil and then sprinkle the spice mixture all over the hen. Rub it into the skin of the bird.

5. Squeeze the juice from one lemon half all over the hen and then place the other half inside the cavity of the bird.

6. Place the roasting pan in the preheated oven and bake for 1½ to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature of the hen reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

7. Remove the roasted hen from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving. Enjoy!
