Ingredients

1 (4-pound) beef brisket

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon celery seed

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 cup beef broth

1/2 cup tomato sauce

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons molasses

2 tablespoons liquid smoke

Instructions

1. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, celery seed, oregano, and thyme until combined.

2. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, making sure to cover both sides. Place the brisket into the slow cooker.

3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the beef broth, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, molasses, and liquid smoke until combined.

4. Pour the sauce over the brisket and cover the slow cooker. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours, or until the brisket is tender and cooked through.

5. Transfer the brisket to a cutting board and let rest for 10 minutes. Slice against the grain and serve with the sauce. Enjoy!
