– 6 bratwurst links
– 1 large onion, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 12 ounces of your favorite beer
– 1/4 cup brown sugar
– 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
– 1/4 teaspoon paprika
– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg


1. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat.

2. Add the bratwurst and cook until they are browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.

3. Remove them from the pan and set aside.

4. Add the olive oil to the same pan and sauté the onions and garlic until the onions are soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

5. Add the beer, brown sugar, mustard, black pepper, thyme, paprika, and nutmeg to the pan and stir to combine.

6. Return the bratwurst to the pan and bring the mixture to a simmer.

7. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for 15 minutes.

8. Serve the bratwurst on buns with the beer sauce spooned over the top. Enjoy!
