1 lb catfish fillets of your choice

1 cup cornmeal

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 eggs

1/2 cup milk

Vegetable oil for frying


1. Cut the catfish fillets into 2-inch cubes.

2. In a medium bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and the milk.

4. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep-fryer.

5. Dip each piece of catfish into the egg mixture and then coat it with the cornmeal mixture.

6. Carefully place the catfish cubes into the hot oil and fry them until they are golden brown.

7. Drain the catfish nuggets on paper towels to remove any excess oil.
