1 whole chicken (4 to 5 pounds)
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme


1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

2. Remove the giblets from the chicken cavity. Rinse the chicken inside and out with cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

3. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and thyme. Stir until well combined.

4. Rub the mixture all over the chicken, making sure to get into all the nooks and crannies.

5. Place the chicken in a roasting pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F.

6. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.

7. Carve the chicken and serve. Enjoy!
