– 1/2 lb macaroni
– 2 tablespoons of butter
– 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
– 2 cups of milk
– 8 ounces of cheddar cheese, shredded
– 1/2 teaspoon of salt
– 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper


1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Cook the macaroni according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.

3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

4. Add the flour and whisk until it forms a paste.

5. Slowly add the milk, whisking constantly until the mixture thickens.

6. Add the cheese, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth.
