Ingredients
– 4-5 lb. Corned Beef Brisket
– 2 cups of water
– 2 tablespoons of pickling spices
Instructions
1. Place the corned beef brisket in a large pot or slow cooker.
2. Pour the water over the brisket and sprinkle the pickling spices over it as well.
3. If cooking in a pot, bring the liquid to a boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover the pot and let the corned beef cook for about 2 ½ to 3 hours.
4. If cooking in a slow cooker, cover the pot and set the slow cooker to low and let the corned beef cook for about 8-10 hours.
5. Once the corned beef is cooked, remove it from the cooking liquid and let it cool before slicing.
Tips
– If cooking in a pot, add a few potatoes and carrots to the cooking liquid for a complete meal.
– Corned beef can be cooked up to a day before you plan to serve it, just leave it in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve.
