1 beef tenderloin, trimmed

1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon of onion powder

1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon of dried thyme

2 tablespoons of olive oil

2 tablespoons of butter


1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.

2. Place the beef tenderloin on a cutting board and season it with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and thyme. Rub the seasonings all over the beef.

3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.

4. Sear the beef tenderloin on all sides until it is golden brown, about 3 minutes per side.

5. Transfer the beef to a roasting pan and dot it with butter.

6. Roast the beef in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F for medium-rare.

7. Remove the beef from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing into it.
